WASHINGTON, DC – It’s only Jan 12, but things are moving fast for competitive bidding reform in 2015. Lawmakers in the House and Senate are coordinating the reintroduction of bipartisan legislation to reform the competitive bidding program this week. Having both bills reintroduced at the same time shows that our issues are being taken seriously, and each will be coming out of the gate with a strong list of cosponsors.
On top of that, on Friday, AAHomecare was excited to share that the Dept. of Health & Human Services’ Office of the Inspector General has agreed to perform a study on Medicare beneficiary access to DME as requested by a bipartisan coalition of House members in July. However, we know the clock is ticking.
With the round two recompete right around the corner, we need to create a firestorm on Capitol Hill and sustain it over the next three weeks. If you are not plugged into AAHomecare, now is the time.
Things are going to be moving fast, so to stay up to date on breaking news, I encourage you to download the AAHomecare app at AAHomecare.org/app. If you want to be added to our mailing list, email [email protected].
Now is not the time to be a spectator and watch how this plays out. This is the call to arms for those who have not entered the arena. I ask that you get in the fight and create the firestorm we need. If you have any questions about how you can help educate your elected officials about these bills, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at [email protected].
