Participants will explore the fundamental science of sleep, the impact of sleep deprivation, and common sleep disorders, for individuals with autism and other medical conditions. The session will then transition to the role of safety beds in providing a secure sleeping environment and mitigating dangerous behaviors. Attendees will gain a thorough understanding of who pays for these specialized beds and how, including key terminology, the insurance coverage process, required documentation for claims, and best practices for navigating potential challenges. This course aims to equip individuals with the knowledge needed to advocate for and successfully navigate the complexities of both sleep health and reimbursement for enclosed beds.
