Daybreak Joins Parachute Health

LOS ANGELES – Daybreak, a sleep apnea solutions company, has joined with Medtrade exhibitor Parachute Health, the largest ePrescribing platform for HME. This marks Daybreak’s first entry into ePrescribing and makes Daybreak available to the more than 300,000 clinicians and prescribers, 3,000 HME provider locations, and 70,000 facilities and health systems nationwide who use Parachute Health.

An estimated 83 million Americans suffer from sleep apnea, with roughly 80% of cases going undiagnosed due in large part to complicated clinical access, especially in underserved communities. Daybreak is transforming the landscape as the only end-to-end, fully at-home solution that makes sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment modern and easy. Joining Parachute Health’s platform gives healthcare providers a digital pathway to connect patients to Daybreak’s innovative treatment model.

“Obstructive sleep apnea remains widely underdiagnosed and undertreated in the United States, in part because the path from testing to treatment has historically been fragmented across multiple systems and providers,” said Wesley Lones, founder and CEO of Daybreak. “By joining Parachute Health, it continues our broader mission to increase access to care, shorten time to treatment, and simplify a therapy pathway that has long been disjointed for both patients and the providers who treat them.”

Providers using Parachute Health (pictured here during a Tech Talks at Medtrade) can now refer patients directly to Daybreak within the same ePrescribing workflow they already use for other HME orders. For physicians, this places Daybreak alongside the ordering systems and insurance networks they rely on today.

For HME providers, they can use their established pathways within Parachute Health’s platform to request and receive prescriptions and clinical documentation to support patient therapies. This shortens the time it takes to generate a valid, signed prescription, reducing the administrative burden that has historically slowed the path from sleep apnea diagnosis to treatment.

“Parachute strives to decrease the friction between prescribers, HME providers, and patients through our digital workflows. We are pleased to make Daybreak available to prescribers utilizing our platform,” said Rob Boeye, executive vice president, Commercial Leader, HME at Parachute Health.

This comes as Daybreak has built a growing network of HME partners that utilize Parachute Health to simplify referrals and paperwork. Many of the healthcare providers Daybreak works with today already use Parachute Health, making joining the platform a natural extension of Daybreak’s mission to meet patients and providers where they already are.

“Physicians already place HME orders through Parachute’s platform as part of their normal workflow, so a sleep apnea referral to Daybreak now works the same way,” said Eric Mongeau, chief commercial officer of Daybreak. “ePrescribing through Parachute Health turns what used to be a multi-day back-and-forth into a streamlined digital process.”

Daybreak is now live and accepting orders through Parachute Health. Following an obstructive sleep apnea diagnosis, either provided by the ordering physician or by Daybreak via their home sleep test and telehealth solution, an impression kit is sent to the patient for a custom-fit Daybreak Device, an oral sleep appliance that gently moves the lower jaw forward to open the lower airway to relieve both snoring and sleep apnea.

Providers and HME companies using Parachute Health, or looking to utilize an ePrescribing platform, can add Daybreak to their list of providers and begin referring patients.
