LAS VEGAS – More than 150 manufacturers and service providers have signed on for Medtrade Spring, the Las Vegas version of the nation’s premiere HME event, scheduled for March 30-April 1, 2015, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
Hundreds more are expected in the coming months, and Kevin Gaffney, group show director, is confident that attendees will have a lot of new products to pore over. And this time, he says, time on the Expo floor will have very little conflict with the informative educational sessions.
“Our educational sessions have always been top notch, and it’s true that attendees have occasionally felt conflicted about whether to attend a session or spend time on the expo floor exploring new products,” explains Gaffney. “This year’s schedule has been adjusted to minimize the overlap between Expo floor time and valuable educational sessions.”
According to Gaffney, attendee surveys from Medtrade Spring 2014 are the primary reason for the change to a “friendlier format” designed to create a more seamless attendee experience. “A majority of sessions have been moved to Monday, which is day one,” says Gaffney. “With most sessions occurring on day one, attendees will have most of the day Tuesday and all day Wednesday to browse the Expo floor at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Arriving on Sunday really makes sense.”
Early Medtrade Spring 2015 registration for HME providers opened three weeks ago and attendees may continue to sign up for considerable savings. “Numerous manufacturers are buying up booth space for an industry that is adjusting to new realities,” adds Gaffney. “Our partners at the American Association for Homecare are doing a great job of holding the line on further government intrusion, while also choosing their battles wisely. As always, we will be proud to showcase AAHomecare’s outstanding leadership team when the industry comes together on March 30, 2015.”
“The DME industry is experiencing a sea change,” adds Jeffrey S. Baird, JD, attorney with Brown & Fortunato and a member of the Medtrade educational advisory board. “Medtrade understands this and is aggressively transforming itself to serve the needs of the industry. For the upcoming spring conference, Medtrade is focusing its education programs on providing ‘real world tools’ for the supplier to use to be successful. To an extent, Medtrade has blown up the education format of the past. In its place, the Medtrade Spring education programs will be more interactive with multiple panels and round tables.”
