Government Funding Action Leaves the Door Open for HME Priorities After Election

Published: September 27, 2020

WASHINGTON, DC – Last week, the House passed a continuing resolution to keep the Federal government funded through Dec. 11, and reports indicate that the Senate and Administration have agreed to support the measure.

To reach a deal before the September 30 deadline, House and Senate negotiators significantly limited the number of policy provisions in the final bill. While the stop-gap funding legislation does not include measures related to HME, the bill’s timeframe means that there will be another opportunity to include our industry’s priorities in a year-end funding package or other legislative vehicles during the post-election “lame duck” Congressional session.

To that end, we encourage you to continue to reach out to your House members to to build support for our top legislative priorities through the election season and help improve their prospects during the lame duck session, and also continue to ask for support in delaying CB Round 2021.
