WASHINGTON, D.C. – HME providers are encouraged to participate in AAHomecare’s survey capturing the real-world market pressures on the increased costs of products, labor, and deliveries to use in advocacy efforts to secure reimbursement relief. Those who provide home oxygen equipment, CPAP devices, and/or hospital beds to end users in a home-based setting are encouraged to take this survey by Friday, 9/8.
Insights from the survey will be used on Capitol Hill to build support for continuing Medicare 75/25 rate relief for non-bid, non-rural areas that are due to take a 32% cut on January 1st if legislation isn’t passed and to secure 90/10 blended rate relief for former CBAs. Intel will also be instrumental in securing payer wins across the country.
“With the virtual Washington Legislative Conference just around the corner, the timing of this survey couldn’t be better as we quantify the current, real world market pressures that HME providers are operating under,” remarks Tom Ryan, AAHomecare President & CEO. “A robust Industry response will provide useful intel as we engage Congress, CMS, and payers to secure rate relief and protect patient access.”
Survey results will be kept anonymous and used in aggregate to highlight national trends and pressure points, much like the infographics AAHomecare created earlier this year based on its disposable supplies surveys (Enteral Nutrition infographic, Ostomy & Urological Supplies infographic and Woundcare Supplies infographic). All HME providers are encouraged to participate in this important survey.

Stay tuned for an AAHomecare education-focused survey launching early September as the Association requests Industry input as it develops an educational platform to best meet the Industry’s operational, personnel, payer, and claims-related issues.
