DALLAS – The AAHomecare Payer Relations Council has created a new Managed Care Track that will debut at Medtrade, scheduled for Feb 18-20, 2025 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. The Council developed six classes, plus two additional sessions on complementary topics to complete the track.
Leveraging Technology For Enhanced Payor Relations will feature Jason Morin at Analytix Healthcare Solutions along with: Ginny Cate, Apria Healthcare; Kevin Ackerman, Parachute Health; Kris Srinivasan, Valere Health; and Michael Dick, Viemed. “This session will explore how technology is transforming DME payer relations,” Morin explains. “We’ll take a comprehensive ‘ground-up’ approach, reviewing the DME technology stack in detail, examining both the advantages and challenges of various tools. The session will culminate in an interactive discussion focused on strategies to maximize the value of these tools in your payer relations efforts.”
Morin and the panel will delve into a wide array of tech tools available to DME businesses, explaining how they can be deployed or integrated effectively, and how they impact payer relations.
“Our panelists will share actionable insights and tips for incorporating technology into market access strategies,” Morin adds. “Additionally, we’ll explore real-world use cases for data analytics, highlighting the importance of leveraging both internal and external data to drive informed decisions and improve payer interactions.”
Morin will also be speaking during Transparency In Coverage Data: What You Need To Know with: Laura Williard, AAHomecare; Chris O’Dell, Turquoise Health; and Craig Douglas, VGM.
“We’ll clarify the distinctions between the Transparency in Coverage rule and the Hospital Price Transparency rule, examining their goals and the datasets they make accessible,” Morin says. “Most importantly, we’ll discuss how this newly available data is being utilized by various healthcare stakeholders to drive decision-making and improve outcomes.”
The managed care track will feature two categories—Basic Payer Relations for Newcomers and Advanced Payer Relations Strategies. For those new to payer relations, the “basic” category will provide information on regulatory bodies, building and maintaining effective relationships with payors, and the most up-to-date information to help providers engage the most important stakeholders in this space.
More seasoned payer relations professionals will want to access the “advanced” category and delve into sophisticated negotiation techniques and complex contract negotiations—plus advanced technologies including AI, emerging trends, and the future landscape of the DME industry.
