WATERLOO, IA – The nomination period for HME Woman of the Year award closes today, August 14, so there is still a bit of time left. Nominations are open to all women in the HME industry and requires the nominator to complete four questions stating how their nominee has made an impact on the industry.
Last year, Dr. Kirsten Davin (pictured with Mike Mallaro, CEO of VGM) was selected as the inaugural HME Woman of the Year. Davin has used the platform as a vehicle to network with other women in the industry and share successes and obstacles that impact their businesses.
Although Davin is not eligible for the 2017 Woman of the Year award, she encourages her peers, both male and female, to take a moment to reflect and then nominate a deserving woman who has impacted the industry. Women are also encouraged to nominate themselves.
“I would encourage everyone to take a minute to really think about what they do, what they’ve done, and who they’ve touched,” said Davin. “By really sitting down and reviewing your career, we often find out that we have a greater impact than we think we do.”
The 2017 finalists will be invited to Medtrade (scheduled for Oct 23-25 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta) where the winner will be announced.
