ATLANTA – More than 500 exhibitors are gearing up for Medtrade, set to begin in one week at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The nation’s premiere HME event will show off thousands of new and familiar products, such as the Safe-er-Grip Balance Assist Bar (available in 11.5-, 17-, and 24-inch models) from Mommy’s Helper Inc (MHI).
“This is MHI’s third time at Medtrade,” says Martin Park, president and owner. “MHI is the original creator and innovator of the Safe-er-grip line of suction cup balance assist bars. We believed it was time for us to bring the advantages of doing business directly with us to traditional DME retailers. We look forward to making the benefits of dealing directly to the many friends and accounts we hope to meet at Medtrade one week from now.”
In addition to the Safe-er-Grip Balance Assist Bar, attendees to the MHI Booth #2169 can also see the Safe-er-Grip Tub Organizer and the Safe-er-Grip Denture Bath.
Samuel M. Salamon, MD, founding partner and CFO at Cleveland-based InBedMedRECOVERY LLC (Booth #1320) brings a fitness/cardio/strength device that can be used over a wheelchair, bed, or recliner in home or institutional settings.
“We offer this fitness solution to assist anyone with symptoms or injuries that keeps them confined to a bed or wheelchair,” says Salamon, who’s company is making its first trip to Medtrade. “This gives confidence in building strength and a feeling of accomplishment to anyone who is wheelchair- or home-bound. Our target audience is anyone confined to a wheelchair, the elderly, athletes of all ages, people with injuries of all types, and medical patients of all types. SIB15 is the name of the stuck-in-bed fitness device.”
Another product making its Medtrade debut is The No Mo “O” Urine Stain and Odor Eliminator (Booth #2668), which includes mattress protectors, pillow protectors, chair seat protectors, wheelchair cushion covers, chair covers, and under pads in two sizes.
“We decided to exhibit at Medtrade, because we know we have a product that works to eliminate the odor and stain of urine, and our other products are items that will help the end user in so many ways,” says Bonny Parker, owner/president of The No Mo “O” Urine Stain and Odor Eliminator. “We can assist care givers with reliable products to make their jobs easier. From a wholesale side, our products give our distributors the opportunity to give customers innovative products that really work. From a retail side, our products offer the profit margins needed to make it in todays market while still being very competitive.”
Point-of-Rental® Systems’ two products—Enterprise and CLOUD—will also make their Medtrade debut at Booth #1270. As vice president of Sales, Greg Bennett decided to take the Medtrade leap after receiving “quite a bit of interest” in the company’s rental and inventory management software offerings from the DME industry.
“We are excited to exhibit at this show and help companies manage their businesses more efficiently,” enthuses Bennett. “Information security for a web-based software solution has been deemed unreliable, but at Point-of-Rental Systems, we put security at the forefront, and it is our primary focus…We are a Windows® and web-based rental and inventory management software.”
Montana-based iReliev Products will be in the Emerging Companies Pavilion showing off its iReliev over the counter pain relief products, distributed by ExcelHealth Inc. Products include:
• iReliev OTC TENS Pain Management System;
• iReliev Conductive Back Wrap;
• iReliev Pads & Leads Refill Kit; and
• iReliev Pain Free Zone Merchandising Display
“Medtrade offers iReliev the perfect platform to showcase its product line to gain more exposure among the HME/DME marketplace,” says Mike Williams, ATP, who serves as CEO of ExcelHealth Inc, distributores of iReliev Pain Management Products. “As CEO of a DME company for more than 10 years, I recognize the tremendous opportunity HME/DMEs have to build successful retail businesses. HMEs are looking for the right mix of over the counter pain relief products. ExcelHealth and iReliev products provide an excellent opportunity and return on investment.”
Last but not least, Mobility Enhancement LLC joins the new product parade with its transfer bridge, located at Booth 866E in the Emerging Companies Pavilion. For Justin Waddell (pictured, left), director of Operations, the company’s Medtrade debut is an opportunity to enter what he believes is a global and universal marketplace for his product.
The transfer bridge can transfer a person from a wheelchair to a standard chair, or “from most any surface to another in a sitting position, when both are close enough together,” says Waddell. “It is made from aluminum, fail safe, strong, connective material—competition is plastic or wood. It has stops on both sides and does not slide from under the patient.”
