It’s no secret that Medicaid plays a critical role in adequate access to Complex Rehab Technology (CRT). These programs provide needed services to individuals of all ages and varying levels of disability. They also set the baseline requirements for Medicaid Managed Care Organizations. Unfortunately, Medicaid programs across the country continue to implement changes in coverage, policy, and reimbursement without recognizing the need for stakeholder input.
These damaging trends and the pace at which they are occurring are, without question, having a negative impact on appropriate access to CRT and multiplying the challenges that providers face in serving their customers. Industry involvement is required and these issues must be identified, prioritized, and acted on.
With that in mind, a national 2020 Medicaid CRT Survey is being conducted to gather important information regarding CRT policies on a state-by-state basis. This initiative is being led as a joint effort between NCART, AA Homecare, and U.S. Rehab.
The data collected will enable us to examine the status and trends within state Medicaid programs and identify where advocacy action may be required. Once issues are prioritized, related strategies can be developed and supporting action plans and tools can be created.
The survey has been kept to only 16 questions that focus on important aspects of state coverage, policy, and funding. If the participating company operates in more than one state, the organization is asked to complete a separate survey for each state.
You can find the survey here along with related instructions to provide more detail. Responders have been asked to get their submissions in by Friday January 31. Thanks in advance to all CRT providers who are able to participate. Companies with questions about the survey can contact Mickae Lee at [email protected].
