WASHINGTON, D.C. – AAHomecare’s Tom Ryan and Jay Witter were on Capitol Hill last week to raise awareness of the Proposed Rule and the return of the bidding program. Discussions included the planned addition of urological, ostomy, and tracheostomy products to the program despite clear statutory language excluding them from the CBP, as outlined in a policy document they shared in meetings.
Legislators and committee staff showed significant interest in helping to mitigate some of the problems identified with the Proposed Rule and plan to discuss them with their peers and contacts in CMS and the Administration.
Congress has played a significant role in helping shape regulatory action by CMS in the past. We will continue to engage Capitol Hill throughout the process of rulemaking and implementing the next bidding round. If you have an opportunity to engage your Senators and Representatives during the August recess period, we encourage you to raise awareness on how the next CBP round will impact your business and patients.
Ryan and Witter were joined by Seth Johnson of Pride Mobility for the pictured meeting with Rep. Dan Meuser (R-PA).
