ARLINGTON, VA – As the HME community awaits the release of a DMEPOS/Home Health Final Rule that could re-start the Competitive Bidding Program and reshape our industry, AAHomecare and our lobbying team continues to gather intelligence and engage the Administration – including more meetings on Capitol Hill.
The stakes for our industry have been clear since CMS released the Proposed Rule on June 30 – and response from AAHomecare members over the 142 days since then has been nothing short of incredible.
This has been clearly demonstrated by the strong comment response to the Proposed Rule from AAHomecare members, your advocacy that prompted legislators to engage with the Administration, and the 600+ companies and organizations that joined our sign-on letter to CMS Administrator Oz.
It’s also evident by the AAHomecare member companies who have provided funds for a high-tempo lobbying and advocacy campaign to engage decision-makers in the Administration, including face-to-face meetings in the White House itself and its adjacent Executive Office Building.
Our membership’s support and advocacy over the past four-and-a-half months demonstrates the value of strong and united Association – just like it has over the last three years.
Since the start of 2023, your dues investment and involvement in AAHomecare have delivered $3.8 billion in relief to our industry, including gains from establishing 50/50 blended Medicare rates in rural areas, fixing O2 “double dip” reimbursement cuts, and state-level reimbursement wins. In addition to those “bottom line” wins, we’ve secured regulatory wins that reduce red tape and bolster operational efficiency – you can see the full rundown in our most recent ROI summary.
Your dues dollars and your personal engagement – through your advocacy, by participating on one of AAHomecare’s member-led policy councils, in supporting Medtrade, and providing your patients and communities with quality products and exceptional care – is what drives an impactful association that serves an essential industry.
Your investment and involvement have fueled our campaign on the proposal to re-start the bidding program – and it’s the foundation of the legislative, regulatory, and payer relations efforts that continues to deliver for this industry.
And when CMS releases their Final Rule, we know that your passion and commitment to this industry and your involvement in the Association will allow us to continue the fight to whatever degree is warranted. Thank you for your membership and support.
