DALLAS – Don’t miss the Stand Up for Homecare networking event— a chance to join fellow HME leaders on the roof at d.e.c. on dragon st. in Dallas on Wednesday, Mar. 27 (5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.).
The Stand Up for Homecare fundraising reception allows providers to support patient advocacy groups that represent a large cohort of people who depend on the products and services provided by the industry. These influential groups, including the ITEM Coalition and United Spinal Association, have been important allies on HME public policy priorities. SUFH funds have also been used to strengthen AAHomecare’s advocacy capabilities.
Networking, fellowship, and fabulous rooftop views are all in support of patient advocacy partners and better public policy outcomes for HME. Tickets are available here or as an add-on to your Medtrade registration. Contact Sue Mairena at [email protected] for multi-ticket packages and sponsorship opportunities; see the full list of sponsors here.
AAHomecare and NEMEP Collaborate on MCO Reimbursement Legislation for New York
ALBANY, N.Y. – AAHomecare is working with the Northeast Medical Equipment Providers Association (NEMEP) to support new legislation requiring Medicaid MCOs in New York to reimburse DME providers at no less than 100% of the state’s published Medicaid DME and CRT fee schedule.
Many New York MCOs currently reimburse DME providers at less than half of the Medicaid fee-for-service fee schedule for identical devices and supplies paid in the fee-for-service system, threatening access to care for a majority of Medicaid recipients covered by these programs in the state.
AAHomecare has partnered with NEMEP to introduce and build support for legislation in both the Senate and Assembly to mandate MCO reimbursements at no less than 100% of the fee schedule rate. New York stakeholders are encouraged to support this effort by asking their State Senators and Assembly members to co-sponsor S.3468 (Rivera)/A.3408 (McDonald) and actively work towards passage of these bills.
If you are a New York-based supplier or manufacturer, you can quickly send a message to your representatives in the New York legislature via AAHomecare’s Voter Voice online advocacy portal. A pre-written message will come up once you’ve entered your ZIP code; you are encouraged to add information about your company’s work supporting New York Medicaid recipients and how rate stability will help you in that mission.
Please share that link with your colleagues and peers in New York to build more support for the legislation. Note: you must have a New York address to ensure your message goes to the correct legislators.
