WASHINGTON, D.C. – To support small and community-based DME suppliers, AAHomecare has launched a small business advocacy hub, elevating the small business perspective in conversations around the Competitive Bidding Program (CBP).
The hub includes turnkey tools that providers can use to advocate and engage effectively, including a guide for connecting with the Small Business Administration and National Federation of Independent Business. Talking points for small businesses on CBP, and a fact sheet outlining key provisions from the rule are also included.
During National Small Business Week (May 3-9), AAHomecare will celebrate the essential role small DME suppliers play in supporting end users and communities across the country. Did you know that 85% of DME suppliers are small businesses by SBA standards? Protecting their ability to serve, and ensuring they can continue to compete and grow, has never been more important. The small business advocacy hub also includes turnkey resources you can use to participate in #NationalSmallBusinessWeek.
National Small Business Week is about more than recognition; it’s about action. As policies like CBP’s Remote Item Delivery model threaten to limit small supplier participation and reshape access to home-based care, now is the time to make your voice heard. We encourage you to explore these resources, share your perspective, and join us in advocating for policies that support the HME community and the people we serve.
