WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the aftermath of a disappointing final rule, AAHomecare leaders have made it clear that they are not giving up. As a first step, officials will be sharing further perspectives on the Final Rule and discussing plans to move forward in a free webinar on Monday, Dec. 15 from 2:00 to 3:00 Eastern Time.
The webinar will break down:
• The facts behind the Final Rule – what’s included, what’s changing, and what it means for your business.
• Intel received from the Administration – a transparent look at the regulatory process.
• Timeline for the Final Rule – when changes take effect and what deadlines you need to know
• Provider Enrollment requirements – how enrollment processes are evolving and what providers must do to stay compliant.
• Accreditation process – updates on plan to move accreditation to an annual process and the impact on provider operations.
• Strategy moving forward – how the Association is working to delay implementation of the next round of competitive bidding and work towards an improved rate-setting framework.
The webinar is described as a chance to understand the stakes, prepare your organization, and stand with the industry in shaping the future of home medical equipment.
“A re-started bidding program under this framework will damage the DME community, vulnerable patient cohorts and their caregivers, and the broader healthcare continuum,” wrote AAHomecare officials in a message to members. “AAHomecare remains committed to working with policymakers, patient advocates, and DME leaders from every segment of our industry to deliver a better solution before bid results take effect in 2028.”
