WATERLOO, IA – In a virtual ceremony held by the VGM Group late last year, Dana McLaughlin (pictured here at a Stand Up For Homecare fund raiser at Medtrade) received the 2023 Home Medical Equipment (HME) Woman of the Year award. McLaughlin is the president at Medical Services Company based in Cleveland, Ohio.
McLaughlin has 28 years of financial and operational leadership experience in the home health care industry. She joined Medical Service Company in June 2008 and was elevated to president in July 2022.
Her career has been marked by a dedication to serving others, believing that leadership in the health care industry has the power to positively impact our most vulnerable populations. She takes great pride in her commitment to better patient lives through compassionate care. McLaughlin also enjoys mentoring other women in the industry, helping them gain confidence in themselves so they may achieve personal and professional growth.

Now in its eighth year, the HME Woman of the Year Award, presented by VGM Group, recognizes one woman in the industry who has made significant contributions throughout her career to her company, community, and the HME industry.

Along with McLaughlin, three other women had the honor of being declared an HME Woman of the Year finalist for 2023:
• Deb Holman, chief compliance officer, Hart Medical;
• Jami Tharp, office manager, senior billing specialist, and HR manager, Choice Medical; and
• Heather Yi, vice president, customer success, Brightree.
Last year’s winner was Sherry Krug, of Binson’s Medical Equipment & Supplies.
