PHOENIX – Attendees at Medtrade earlier this month discovered a welcome addition to the burgeoning aids to daily living (ADL) market in the form of CatTongue Grips. The intuitive new product gained traction on the show floor in Phoenix as providers discovered various non-slip solutions that could help older adults who have limited dexterity, strength, or mobility.
“By integrating these innovative grip solutions, your company can further its mission of promoting independence and safety for seniors in their daily lives,” said Matt Kelly, co-founder/president, CatTongue Grips, Park City, Utah. “The added grip reduces strain on joints and muscles, allowing seniors to maintain independence with everyday tasks that might otherwise become challenging.”
Customizable strips of the company’s patented GRIPTION® add a secure feel to household items such as door knobs, shower handles, kitchen utensils, and stair rails. As an addition to the retail/cash landscape within HME, providers at Medtrade appreciated the simple design and multi-use capabilities.
“CatTongue Grips can be sold as an accessory add-on because they can be easily applied to familiar mobility items,” explained Kelly, pictured left at Medtrade 2026 with Scott Sommers, head of Business Development. “GRIPTION products can provide non-slip solutions for walkers, canes, and wheelchair handles/foot plates, reducing the risk of slippage for seniors with reduced hand strength or coordination.”
Kelly reminded providers who visited the CatTongue booth at the Phoenix Convention Center that the patented GRIPTION material was: anti-slip; waterproof; non-abrasive; durable; allergy free; anti-microbial; and customizable. “There are tons of different uses,” Kelly added. “Stairs, steps, walkways—indoors or out—on grab rails in showers, on the floors of showers or bath tubs; There’s no product better than ours for that use. We have a huge following in that bath safety category.”
