DALLAS – The AAHomecare Payer Relations Council has created a new Managed Care Track that will debut at Medtrade, scheduled for Feb 18-20, 2025 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. The Council developed six classes, plus two additional sessions on complementary topics to complete the track.
Building Effective Relationships And Dealing with Common Challenges With Payors
Together with Amanda Minimi of Aeroflow, James Russell of Pediatric Home Service, and Richard Kovacik of Healthcare Growth Group, Miriam Lieber of Lieber Consulting will lead a discussion on payor relations, specifically on payor communication and negotiation basics.
Panelists will discuss tools for contracting in this practical and timely session. Attendees will learn how to leverage payor relationships for optimal partnerships. “We will dive into the ins and outs of contracts, terms, requirements, claim submissions, and denials,” says Miriam Lieber, founder, Lieber Consulting. “Knowing how to win the payor to your way of thinking, using real case studies, will provide excellent takeaways for those looking to hone payor relationships. Attend this session if you are looking for tips on how to improve your communication with the payor community.”
The full track will feature two categories—Basic Payer Relations for Newcomers and Advanced Payer Relations Strategies. For those new to payer relations, the “basic” category will provide information on regulatory bodies, building and maintaining effective relationships with payors, and the most up-to-date information to help providers engage the most important stakeholders in this space.
More seasoned payer relations professionals will want to access the “advanced” category and delve into sophisticated negotiation techniques and complex contract negotiations—plus advanced technologies including AI, emerging trends, and the future landscape of the DME industry.
While Medtrade offered a Payer Relations track in 2024, the Medtrade EAB listened to feedback from the surveys asking for more panels with peers highlighting thought leadership within the industry. The new Managed Care track accepted presentation submissions and then made decisions on the best content for the attendees.
