CARY, N.C. – The ATHOMES (Association for Tennessee Home Oxygen and Medical Equipment Services) Board of Directors has joined forces with ACMESA (Atlantic Coast Medical Services Association), a successful state association based in North Carolina. ACMESA currently represents providers in North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
“In our search for the best path forward, we also considered collaborations with Georgia and Mississippi,” says Beth Bowen, executive director, ATHOMES. “However, after careful evaluation, we determined that ACMESA’s strong foundation and history of successfully integrating Virginia and West Virginia providers made it the ideal choice. Joining ACMESA connects us to a broader, more influential network that will amplify our voice, strengthen our advocacy, and provide robust support for the unique challenges facing Tennessee providers.”
By aligning with ACMESA, ATHOMES members will gain access to enhanced resources, a stronger collective voice, and expanded representation locally and nationally. This partnership ensures that Tennessee providers remain well-represented in discussions with AAHomecare and other critical stakeholders, securing a brighter future.
“Even as we join ACMESA, ATHOMES will continue to use the ATHOMES name to focus on local advocacy,” Bowen confirms. “Your continued membership in ACMESA will empower us to: engage legislators in Nashville on key issues affecting Tennessee providers; advocate for Medicaid reforms and improved fee schedules; and drive change that directly benefits your businesses and patients.”
Laura Willard (AAHomecare) will remain a dedicated partner in pursuing Medicaid rate increases through budget routes and other means. Additionally, ATHOMES Board members will maintain active roles in ACMESA leadership to ensure that Tennessee’s priorities are represented.
