DALLAS – Last month at Medtrade, attendees at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas cast votes for their favorite products in the New Product Pavilion Provider’s Choice Awards, sponsored by HomeCare Media. The Provider’s Choice Bronze went to the dash 3 from dashmoto®.
“While the expo centers around medical products, the dash 3 bridges the gap between medical and lifestyle unlike any other mobility device,” said Josh Wright, brand manager for dashmoto. “It can be used by able-bodied and mobility-impaired individuals alike to provide a better quality of life. It isn’t made to look like a mobility device, which takes the stigma away from a person’s disability and puts all of the focus on the enjoyment of the ride itself.”
Attendees responded well to the sleek design, the carbon fiber frame, and performance capabilities. Medtrade Monday sat down with Wright to learn more about the thinking behind dash 3, as well as the company’s plans for the future.
Medtrade Monday: How did you describe the dash 3 to Medtrade attendees?
Wright: The dash 3 is designed for dignified mobility. Every detail of its design was carefully crafted to empower people to make the most of their mobility journey. We chose carbon fiber for the frame to keep it incredibly strong, yet lightweight, making the heaviest piece just 26 pounds. Lifting it into a car, upstairs, or onto a curb feels effortless. And once it’s on the road, the 500-watt motor unleashes a new sense of freedom, reaching up to 18 mph, allowing users to overtake bicycles in the bike lane and feel the wind in their hair.
This is more than just a mobility scooter. It’s a second chance. A chance to move through the world with confidence, to keep up instead of falling behind. It folds effortlessly to fit into the trunk of a car, ready at a moment’s notice for the next adventure. The airline-compliant battery means travel isn’t just possible, it’s easy. For the people who ride it, this is about more than convenience. It’s about reclaiming joy. It’s about feeling alive, independent, and unstoppable again. The dash 3 isn’t here to remind people of their limitations, it’s here to make them forget they ever had any.
Medtrade Monday: What is the “origin story” of the award-winning product?
Wright: dashmoto® was born from resilience, passion, and the belief that mobility should feel like freedom, not limitation. For founder Kim Ng, motorcycles were a way of life and an extension of who he was. But in a single moment, a spinal cord injury changed everything, forcing him into a world where speed and independence felt out of reach.
Kim searched for a mobility solution that could match the way he wanted to move through life, but nothing he found lived up to the level of excitement and empowerment he had come to know through his motorcycles. So, he set out to create it for himself. After many years of relentless design, engineering, and refinement, the dash 3 was born—a mobility scooter that doesn’t just restore movement, but redefines it. Now, the dash 3 stands as a symbol of strength, proving that the journey never really ends.
Medtrade Monday: What are your plans for the future?
Wright: The journey doesn’t stop here. dashmoto® is committed to pushing the boundaries of mobility, expanding our reach, and creating innovative solutions that empower even more people to move through life with confidence. Our vision is global. With every new product and every new rider, we’re redefining what’s possible, ensuring that no one has to settle for less than the exhilarating, independent life they deserve.
