LAS VEGAS – Several Medtrade Spring attendees left the recent show in Las Vegas with a respected credential that will help them differentiate their company in the coming years.
The Certified DME Specialist (CDME), from the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC), is a person who demonstrates broad knowledge of the DME/supply industry, including prescription verification, intake process, product selection, dispensing and setup, documentation, billing, compliance, and performance management.
“The Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) credential proves the professional competency of the certification holder and gives HME providers a competitive edge over other HME businesses that don’t have CDMEs on staff,” says Carrie Green, marketing manager, Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC). “Achieving CDME certification requires minimal investment, and the certification will provide an ongoing benefit to HME providers and the customers they serve.”
BOC officials are again planning a workshop on day one (Monday, Oct 23, 2017) of Medtrade that can go a long way toward helping providers prepare for the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) exam, which will take place two days later on Wednesday, Oct 25.
“Medtrade Spring ended up being very busy this year, and in turn exhausting,” said Michelle Yoon, credentialing manager, Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC), of the recently completed Medtrade Spring. “We ended up having 14 people take the Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) credential exam, which was a good turnout for Medtrade Spring.”
“It’s true that Medtrade is about seven months away, but plans are typically made way in advance and we hope you consider attending the show, and the BOC Workshop/Exam,” adds Kevin Gaffney, group show director, Medtrade.
