ATLANTA – PūrWell earned a rare double, scoring top awards at Medtrade Spring earlier this year and again at Medtrade last month. At Medtrade Spring 2019, the Florida-based company took the Gold Award in the New Product Pavilion Providers’ Choice Awards, sponsored by HomeCare Magazine. At Medtrade last month, PūrWell earned Best in Show in The Retail Product Awards, sponsored by VGM Retail.
PūrWell CBD is a proprietary line of organic, all natural hemp oil products that promote general health and wellness. A Farm Bill signed late last year has only bolstered PūrWell’s prospects, and that momentum has continued. The bill federally regulates cannabidiol, or CBD, one of 167 cannabinoids in the cannabis plant.
“People took notice at the Medtrade booth because we went into detail about dosage, taste, flavor, and what to expect,” said Marc McKeever, national sales director. “It went well again at Medtrade because the passion we have seems to be contagious.”
McKeever is particularly optimistic about the future of CBD, particularly “for companies that are giving the customer a true and tested product with real COAs (Certificates of Analysis) Natural Extraction and education” to the consumer.
“We have already taken measures to make sure we go three steps ahead of just the standard, giving the consumer the best of the best,” McKeever said. “I have been in this Industry for five years and the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical business for 11 years. I love what this Industry has given us, and I respect it. I look forward to only great things in the future. I know there will be some hurdles, but I am ready for them.
Even with CBD acceptance growing, the biggest misconception at Medtrade was a familiar one. “Most people do not realize that CBD is only one molecule in this wonderful Hemp Plant, when in reality there are over 120 in a Full Spectrum Tincture extracted in the very natural way it should be,” McKeever said. “And most people still have not understood the science behind what this fantastic plant can do for us. The Biggest concern was; Will I get high taking this? The answer is no, you will not.”
