WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nearly 100 HME advocates are meeting screen-to-screen today (Nov. 13) with members of Congress and staff to build support for Medicare reimbursement relief legislation on Monday’s special Virtual Hill Day. The follow-up session to our Sept. 20 virtual fly-in is focused on raising awareness and understanding the importance of including measures from S. 1294 and H.R. 5555 in end-of-year legislative vehicles.

S. 1294 Measures Move Forward in Senate Finance Committee
This second virtual advocacy session is taking place as Congress considers end-of-year legislative packages. The Senate Finance Committee passed the Better Mental Health Care, Lower-Cost Drugs, and Extenders Act, legislation that includes provisions from S. 1294, as previously discussed.

The Nov. 13 Virtual Hill Day is specifically targeting Senate and House members on committees of jurisdiction for Federal healthcare finance issues (Senate Finance Committee and House Energy & Commerce and Ways & Means Committees) and is also allowing us to advocate to some offices we were not able to reach in the Sept. 20 virtual session.
